day 17 - long day but skippppppping

hey everyone so its now 11pm - been up since 5.45 organising and eating and chopping and munching and working late. getting home just before 9pm and working out could have been worse but.... of the 850 skips I did 5 full sets of 100 without tripping or anything. I was moaning to the guys about this today and then what happens - its like calling IT about something! anyway - it went great tonight.

the other exercises I got done but it was hard work tonight and the abs were tough at the end. my pull up bar is here - I need to assemble it tomorrow and get that up and going as well - looking forward to that. has always been my nemesis. I remember doing them for an army selection course years ago when I had the sergeant shouting at me - just a few more and then holding around my waist and expecting me to pull him up too. OW OW OW.

anyway - all good. feeling pretty good considering although didnt have much spare time tonight to get the food sorted. looking forward to CNY and getting a bit ahead of the game....

go guys!

Calling HK PCPers

Hi
Aki and I met earlier for a coffee and thought that we should reach out to any other fellow HK based PCPers and see if we can spread our addition and love for this further. Well actually help find anyone else who is there to help us all with motivation face to face on those tough days!
Get in touch and lets meet up on the Bowen Rd or somewhere for a session!

day 16 - weekends what fun

ok - so I am behind on pictures - they will have to come a little later. I do promise.... I need various weekly pictures and I also need to follow the challenge laid down by george and take some pix of our food.

so today at home - have been super productive at home, moving furniture, washing cars and so on and also did all the shopping for a couple of days, made some great chicken and brown rice and lots and lots of veggies. delicious. still struggling with the sheer amount of food though but just had some beautiful melon to round off the day. next week of course back to work will require some discipline - long hours and taking the food in and I think tomorrow I will be in from 6.30am until 8.30pm which is a lovely thought before coming home to exercise and eat.

exercises were pretty good although harder work today. I know what patrick means - many of these are easy to skimp on a little bit but I try very hard not to cheat myself.

oh - and I am under 109 kgs - which is down over 8 from weigh on....

day 15 - back to reality

back from the break of the wonderful undersea world..... so got in got my exercises done - didnt have as much energy today I guess the flights and being static took a bit more out of me. otherwise all good though and looking forward to organising myself properly tomorrow.
went out for a really good friends birthday to a pub and just drank soda water with squeezed lime which kept me going long enough. even managed to avoid any of the delicious looking snacks somehow...
come on week 3!!!

2 weeks awesome

Knocked off the 800 jumps pretty easily and a quick swim.
Anyway feeling good just looking forward to getting into it fully from home next week. exercise has been better than I expected but all these veggies need to work on since frankly steamed veggies are already quite tedious.

day 14 - 4 dives and out

wow this week has been fun but 4 dives today was exhausting esp given the sea was a bit rough! Anyway seahorses, turtles etc kept me v happy indeed today. I got back thinking I would hate the workout but did 2 full sets of 100 jumps, maxed all the sets and even tried the failure trick with the last set even if I was only doing another 5 reps or so.
So will power is ok, jumps improving, circuits improving, haven't weighed myself this week with being away but will do that and a new pic when I get back. But physically I dont see anything yet - I guess that takes a while!
Over for now rover

Day 8 - week 2 - food and family!

So - this morning was interesting getting myself ready as I realised that I needed snacks, lunch etc all ready and its now 8.42 pm and have just done my work out and about to eat the rest of salmon that I cooked earlier. The food thing with a routine I can see as being relatively easy but fitting it in with being with your family and children and then going to see friends who are eating was a bit tougher! Anyway - am sure will get it working....
Now - I was also talking to a friend who whilst she didnt do PCP did something similar with her nutritionist whilst pregnant with her baby just born a few days ago. She was really pleased with it and had a few top tips although did find the eggs pretty mad.
Did my work out - bit harder tonight. I still struggle to do more than about 25 jumps and the rest was ok but by the sit ups I was very very tired. Completed max sets of everything though.
Tomorrow is going to be interesting - travelling to the Philippines for a week's diving. I am sure I can do the food while I am away but will have to be a bit more flexible whilst travelling.
Good luck everyone and if my blog is less regular while I am away that doesnt mean I am not doing my workout!!!!

Day - the end of the half week

So its been ok - actually I have felt full most of the time with a few periods of strong hunger. The exercises have been ok and tonight I did pretty well with the jumprope as well - I am not fluent but I am a lot better than I was before.
What next week holds I am not sure about! I know thats a lot to eat and will take a lot or organising etc but I am sure it will all be fine!
Well done everyone so far and lets rock on the next week or so - if the weight comes off like this first week it should be great!

Day 6 - hmmm

Well - another long day - home at 7.30, children bath, stories, bed - now PCP. Well - did it! Didn't really feel like I was into it today - much less energy. However jumprope was a bit better - trying to work out of the 2 jumps and into a much smoother single jump one.
Still confused especially having just watched the video where on earth I am going to do a pull up!
But.... We are nearly through week one - onto the 500 jumps tomorrow.
What are my thoughts so far? I have done ok so far - jumpropes are tough but I can feel that I am getting better. The other stuff I have found pretty good so far - solid, no major pains and able to complete relatively easily!!!!
Anyway - well done everyone so far!
Good luck!

Day 5 - rock and roll

Hi - don't know what it was today. Perhaps it was having the inspirational Brian in town, maybe meeting my team buddy Aki or just something about today. I slept like a baby last night despite having to wake up to feed my daughter. My alarm woke me up which is unheard of. I ate less for breakfast and was full, I  didnt struggle to make it to lunch despite lunch being at 1pm (breakfast was 7am!) and I only ate half my lunch.

I got home much earlier - around 5.45pm and knocked the sets out quickly. Felt great - the skipping was so much better although I am still averaging only around 30 in a go and sometimes getting started is really hard! But.... the rest of it was good. I have just eaten half a salmon steak, lots of green beans, some broccoli and about a teaspoonful of rice and I am full and feel good.

Now obviously we have a long way to go and I am nervous about the real food starting but I have so much energy already its great. I know I normally feel this way when I am exercising but its great and it motivates me to try harder with the food and the exercise because well I am a believer and I know I can get myself in great shape. Oh and I had a lot of fun at work today which helps....

Oh and PS - down about 6 kgs.... wow

Day 4 - I see what they mean

Ok - so we survived but today appetite was an issue and also I was at work until nearly 8.30pm so coming home at 9pm and doing my workout was pretty tough. However because I was tired I miscounted and for some reason did 15 lunges each side, 10 press ups and 15 leg raises and I did it all and now having re read it feel great.
I dont yet have a strong view on our team..... I think we need a sensible one and one that gets us going. I am sorry but its going to take me a while to get into doing the daily pictures that George is managing.
People do seem sceptical of this and what I am trying to do. People also just dont think its worth the commitment and that makes me want to try harder.
I am going to the Philippines next week diving - hardship I know some may say. I am sure my exercise wont suffer but my diet may be more tricky to be so precise as may be required and also if I am diving 3 times a day I may need to eat a little more.
Keep it up everyone!

Day 3

So first day at work - and fine - the half food was manageable. Just having a small portion of a delicious and relatively healthy Indonesian fish curry. Knocked out the exercises after work and whilst feeling a little tight all going ok.
Just getting nervous about being organised next week..... and doing pull ups - I hate them!!!!
Anyway thanks everyone and keep it up!

Day one and two

Well having signed up so late I had to do both days today.... Fortunately I ate pretty well yesterday and the food thing was survivable today. I will update weight and stuff in time - but whilst I am not at my heaviest I am still a pretty chunky 117 kgs. First target is 105 kgs and then we will see if I can break the magic 100 number. But for me this is about fitness for pleasure and for my family and personal satisfaction.

So today I managed 500 jump ropes and 2 days of exercises. I am feeling it but it was better than I expected. I also struggled with the jump ropes but got up to doing around 40 in a go without stumbling so there is progress. Like George B I have a couple of ropes and I love my old fashioned rope one for now - with a couple of notes in the middle to centralise the weight.

Photo attached and shows there is a lot of work to do. I do hope that not too many people have the pleasure of viewing this but as they say the public declaration is very important.

Thanks for the early encouragement guys - I know there are going to be some tough days out there. Good luck everyone and thanks!

Just signed up

So this is day one.... I have heard great things.... I am nervous though - I need to do this, I am determined but 3 months with a family and working pretty hard is going to be a new challenge for me. I hope that what people say about fellow bloggers is true! So thanks in advance and good luck everyone Nick
